Description
The Modern Sultan Rugs are modern, vibrant and original. Sometimes a shiny silk like fibre made from bamboo is used in the rugs as a highlight.
Modern Sultan rugs are made by Pakistan weavers living in small villages not far from Lahore City in Pakistan. Being close to the City, the weavers are asked to make rugs which might be a traditional motif up scaled in size, combining unusual colours or even make transitional patterns which change across the rug. They sometimes incorporate small shiny highlights using what is known as Bamboo silk. Modern Sultan rugs often really push out the boundaries of rug design and are contemporary pieces.
